Business development roles are one of the most important in Web3 as they are essential for organizations looking to capitalize on the opportunities presented by this cutting-edge technology of decentralized finance and build a strong, future-proof business.

As the Business Development Manager of Flowdesk, Travis focuses on identifying new market opportunities and revenue streams using Web3 technology.

On top of that, Travis also recognizes that his role involves the development of partnerships and collaborations with other organizations in Web3 to drive sustainable and profitable growth for Flowdesk, one of the top market makers in the ecosystem.

Market Makers and Their Role

Market makers like Flowdesk play an important role in the decentralized finance (DeFi) economy by providing much-needed liquidity to the ecosystem. This is achieved by using automated trading bots or algorithms to buy and sell assets on decentralized exchanges. This helps to ensure that there are always buyers and sellers available for a particular asset.

Market makers assist in reducing market volatility, making it easier for other traders to buy and sell assets at fair prices. They also provide the much-needed liquidity to ensure the smooth functioning of decentralized finance protocols and applications, which are critical for the ecosystem's growth.

The Importance of Relationships

Outside of Flowdesk, Travis acknowledges that relationships are the cornerstone of any successful Web3 project. This then inspired him to kickstart OffChain Singapore, an exciting community connecting blockchain and crypto enthusiasts through virtual and in-person events. This community welcomes a wide range of like-minded individuals from blockchain developers to crypto enthusiasts and provides resources to help members be productive in the Web3 professional world.

This is incredibly similar to Club Salad, where we provide a platform for our #SaladFam community to learn, grow and thrive in Web3. Travis is an early member of the #SaladFam, as he was one of the first few community members to mint our Club Salad Access Pass [the collection has since been fully minted out].

Through Club Salad’s community initiatives, Travis was able to meet many like-minded builders in Web3 by regularly attending Salad Tuesdays to network with other holders, gaining alpha on future Salad Ventures projects, and much more.
